From his headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island, Raymond Patriarca ruled the New England Cosa Nostra family with an iron fist for over 30 years. Those that dared challenge him met an untimely demise. Upon his death in 1984 the family would spiral into chaos, culminating in a civil war.
